We are pleased to announce the 26th annual Martin Luther King Essay Contest. This essay contest is meant to celebrate national diversity by sensitizing the public, and especially students, on the importance of a tolerant society.
Each year, high school students are invited to submit essays on a diverse range of topics that touch on diversity. The theme of this year’s essay contest is “The Implications of an Obama Presidency on Racial Relations in the US.”
Essays are invited from high school students in the US. They should be 1,100 words long, double spaced, and typed using font 12. Deadline for submission is on 28th July 2008. The winning essay will be picked on 10th August 2008, with the winners being announced on national newspapers. Winners of the essay contest stand to receive up to $10,000 dollars in cash prizes and an all expense paid trip to Japan. First and second runners up will receive $5,000 and $2,500 respectively.
