A good essay must follow the conventional essay format which consists of the introduction, a body with the main points, and a conclusion.
The introduction is the first part of the essay. The introduction gives the reader the main item that the paper shall talk about. It also outlines the arguments that shall be advanced in the paper to prove the back up the argument. The last paragraph of the introduction is usually the thesis statement, which expresses the main line of reasoning that shall be adopted by the essay.
The second part of the essay format is the body. The body contains the arguments that shall try to prove the thesis statement.
The final part of the essay format is the conclusion. It basically reiterates and reinforces the thesis statement.
