The research paper format may follow different formats, depending on the instructions given. These formats include the MLA, the APA, Harvard and Chicago or Turabian styles.
These formats will determine the way sources are cited within the text and in the bibliography / reference section at the end of the research paper. In general however, the research paper must be typed in a double space format, and typically requires the use of the size 12 font which may either be Arial or Times New Roman.
The research format also includes a title. The structure of the body, and whether topic sentences can be used or not depends on which format (MLA, APA, Harvard or Chicago) is chosen. The research format chosen will also be particular about spaces between words, numbering, use of abbreviations, and indentation.
